Washing and cleaning:
Wash your trailer’s chassis in the same way as you wash a car. First hose down with water and then wash it using a soaked sponge or brush. Regular car shampoo is excellent for normal cleaning; use degreaser if the trailer is heavily soiled with oil or asphalt, etc.
Always wash the trailer after use on salted roads. Heavy wheel spray can cause visible damage to galvanization, especially in combination with road salt. This is particularly important on new trailers with “fresh” hot-dip galvanizing.
Rust may appear along edges on trailers made from pre-galvanized sheet steel. This will disappear with time.
